Extra Life 2013: I’ll Be Playing (and Streaming) Ultima Games All Week
Okay, so…this:
…is kind of sad. I mean, yes, I reached my personal goal for fundraising this year (and thank you to all who contributed!), but Team Vas Mani still has a ways to go both in terms of the amount of money to be raised and in terms of team members.
Thus, to both drum up (I hope) both additional team members and donations, and because I kind of doubt I’ll have an uninterrupted span of 25 hours on November 2nd in which to play games back to back, I have decided to start my Extra Life game-playing obligations this week, beginning tomorrow evening. I haven’t settled on a complete playlist yet, but at minimum I’ll be giving Ultima 6 another go, and Ultima 7: The Black Gate as well. Moreover, I’ll be streaming all my playing sessions as Google+ Hangouts. Links will be posted on the main page of the Ultima Codex, just above all the Ultima icons, and while I can’t commit to a set start time each evening, I’ll be sure to send out notifications on my Twitter timeline, the Ultima Codex Twitter timeline, Google+, and Facebook a few minutes in advance.
What I ask of you all is to pledge to Team Vas Mani, and help me and Kenneth Munson raise a combined total of $500 for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. Indeed, I would encourage you to pledge to the good Mr. Munson more than to myself; he has not yet received any pledges.
Alternatively, feel free to join the team; we welcome additional fans of Origin Systems and their excellent games!
Ultimately, this is all “for the kids” anyhow; Children’s Miracle Network hospitals do amazing things to save and better the lives of millions of children; Extra Life is a grand cause.
