CD Projekt Sundays
The Witcher 3
If you haven’t played The Witcher or The Witcher 2, don’t worry that you won’t be able to dive right into The Witcher 3; CD Projekt RED will fill you in on the key moments from those games, and their relationship to events in The Witcher 3, using animated flashbacks and a narrated storybook. It was also confirmed that the game will import save games from The Witcher 2, and that this third entry in the series will push the limits of hardware capabilities. But I suppose we already knew as much.
You can also see CD Projekt RED discuss the massive scope of the game in their Eurogamer Expo presentation.
CD Projekt RED in General
This interview (it’s a video, but whatever) offers a few insights into the inner workings of CD Projekt RED. Much of it concerns development on The Witcher 3, but some studio operation matters come up. For example, the new CD Projekt RED studio in Krakow is evidently working its own project, rather than supporting development on The Witcher 3 or Cyberpunk 2077.
There’s also some manner of partnership between the studio and Dark Horse Comics, which I would suspect relates to the The Witcher franchise. We’ll find out more about that later this week.
