Bethesda Thursdays
Well, it didn’t take long for people to begin weighing in on the proposed subscription model that Zenimax Online plans to implement for The Elder Scrolls Online. What’s slightly surprising is the advocacy for a freemium model, but I suppose that’s to be expected — TESO is going to have to compete with Neverwinter and other such games, more and more of which have moved to freemium.
Zenimax, for their part, are holding an emote creation contest right now. VG24/7 got a preview of the upcoming MMORPG, as did OXM, and a few other sites.
Additionally, a few interviews with several TESO developers were published in the last week or so. AusGamers interviewed Matt Firor, while PlayStation Access interviewed Maria Aliprando.
Some new footage of Wolfenstein: The New Order was also released at PAX Prime. It looks…like a Wolfenstein game. Which statement I mean as a compliment, mind you; Machine Games seem to have nailed some that particular ambiance which is peculiar to Wolfenstein.
And OpenMW had another productive week.
