Help Paul Izod Build a School in Zambia
Paul Izod has delighted us with his Ultima retrospectives in recent months, and is working on the next entries in that series even now. However, he has also taken on a new project: building a school in Zambia.
Over the next 12 months through our charity partner, Build It International, BGL will exclusively fund the building of a new school with three classrooms, new sanitation facilities, plus a house for teachers.
In May 2014, I will be taking part in a 10 day visit to Zambia. During the trip, alongside completing the building of the school, I will live in the community, interact with the children and faculty, and even deliver lessons and reading practice to a group of pupils. The trip is a unique chance to experience life in a rural Zambian village and witness the positive impact of BGL’s support
The charity campaign has only just gotten underway, and does not appear to have an imminent, short-term deadline associated with it (although I suppose, per the above, that “May 2014” is a hard deadline for it), and has raised just over 1% of its goal thus far. So if you’re not already tapped out from various crowdfunding and charity campaigns already, consider putting a few dollars toward improving (providing, really!) the education of some Zambian children.
