Video Game Sophistry interviewed Chris Avellone recently about…well, many things, but in the title of their post about it they chose to highlight his emphasis of the importance of varied player experiences. He also spoke with GamesIndustry about his background, what it’s like to do what he does, and how to make it in the games industry (in his view).
Speaking of interviews, Brian Fargo spoke with GameFront recently, mostly concerning Wasteland 2. And Torment: Tides of Numenera‘s Kevin Saunders also replied to some questions on Formspring in the last week or so. Colin McComb also fielded a few questions via the same platform, as did George Ziets.
Tides of Numenera also managed to achieve its final stretch goal this week, adding player strongholds to the game’s list of features, as well as enhanced “choice and consequence” features.
Oh, and a new job listing reveals that Obsidian Entertainment is working on a next-gen title under a “unique” IP. Whatever that means.
It was also confirmed this week that South Park: The Stick of Truth is on track for launch this year.
