Tibby Does Montreal: Ian Frazier Joins the Mass Effect Team (Updated)
Some good news from Ian Frazier, known to most of us as “Tibby”:
Woohooo! What has 2 thumbs and is going to work on the next Mass Effect game? THIS GUY!(I’m pointing at myself right now…with my thumbs)

In case my last post wasn’t clear enough, I’m very happy to announce that I’ll soon be joining the team at Bioware Montreal! 🙂 #DreamJob

So, it looks like the former leader of Team Lazarus, and the former lead designer for Big Huge Games’ Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, landed a job (role unspecified, as yet based on this, it seems Tibby landed a lead designer role) at BioWare Montreal, where he’ll be working on the next entry in the Mass Effect series.
And it doesn’t appear he’s the only former Big Huge Gamer that landed a job there this week:
@finalmacstorm Yup, all three of us are headed up there. Absolutely stoked to join their awesome team! 🙂

For the record, “the Campbell” refers to Colin and Jess Hara Campbell, who were artists/world designers for Reckoning. Which hopefully means that the next Mass Effect title has some gorgeous scenery that’s bursting with colour and ecclectic detail.
Anyhow…a big congratulations to Tibby on landing the new job! Enjoy Montreal!
Awesome news, though riding the whirlwind is a frightening trajectory. Best wishes to Ian, and at least the next game will be better for his contributions. @Ian Don thy steeliest armor and most honed blade, as the bigger the boys the sharper the fangs. Even a faulty perception of weakness is remembered whilst within the deepest of abysses. Realize the impossible by showing deference while being nothing short of alpha. Kick ass and take no names.
He’s Lead Gameplay Designer.
