Todd McFarlane commented recently that 38 Studios Project Copernicus, a free-to-play MMORPG, was evidently quite close to being done…in addition to being a “game changer” in the world of MMOs. Make of that what you will…at least the former employees of the studio have got their 401k plans back. In less-happy news, however, the former Big Huge Games staff snapped up by Epic Games to form Impossible Studios in Baltimore are once again jobless. Epic has shuttered Impossible Studios just a few months after its founding, leaving these developers — Ian “Tiberius” Frazier among them — looking for work once again.

A beta for Cryptic Studios’ upcoming Neverwinter MMORPG was held last weekend, and the game evidently plays like a solid action-RPG…which is a bit unusual for an MMO, and might just be the piece of information I need to convince me to give it a try. The character creator is evidently pretty sweet, and first impressions from around the gaming media have been mostly positive. Massively has published a video detailing the first fifteen minutes of normal gameplay, which some of you may want to check out. They’ve also added a new Neverwinter-themed article feature. They also have some sweet screenshots of a quest in the game you may want to check out.

Cryptic, for their part, also unveiled a new character class and a shiny new CGI trailer. (Actually, I think the trailer came out last week, but whatever.)

BioShock Infinite’s lady protagonist has been immortalized in a plastic figurine, along with some characters that I assume are enemies in the game. Forbes got a hands-on demo of the game recently, and loved it.

It was also revealed that Infinite depended heavily on help from Irrational’s Australian development team. Oh, and Kotaku interviewed Ken Levine recently, on a variety of topics including sewage disposal in a floating city.
