Obsidian Fridays
There isn’t much news from Obsidian Entertainment (or inXile Entertainment) this week. Josh Sawyer posted a video response to a Formspring question about when, in the game development cycle, much-loved features get killed off. News also broke today that Obsidian plans on pitching a new Star Wars game to Disney, the idea apparently being that the game will be set between the two extant trilogies.
Which…okay, you have to admit it would be cool if they were allowed to make that one.
On the inXile Entertainment side of things, it was announced that Mark Morgan will return to score Torment: Tides of Numenera (which, by the way, is the working title for the Planescape: Torment spiritual successor inXile is beginning work on). Tides of Numenera will apparently feature a few Ultima-inspired features in its gameplay as well.
The First Age of Update I missed pointing out this entry at the Project Eternity Kickstarter page last week, in which George Ziets discusses creating a pantheon for the game’s lore. We also get a look at the Orlan species in that one, while in the most recent entry we get a bit of a look at dwarves and hear about issues Obsidian faced with placing doors in dungeons.
And finally, in Wasteland 2 news, the team at inXile Entertainment have released the first gameplay video for the post-apocalyptic RPG. It looks awesome.
