Drawmycharacter, by Denis Loubet
And to think I just wrote a lengthy round-up of where various former Origin Systems personnel, Denis Loubet included, were at these days! Had I but waited one day to publish it, I might have had the opportunity to adjust it to reflect his freshly-announced initiative: Drawmycharacter.
Currently only existing as a Facebook page, Drawmycharacter is, in Loubet’s description of it, “your one-stop site to get your RPG character, or any character idea you have, drawn by hand-picked professional artists.”
Drawmycharacter, once it’s online, will host a hand-picked cadre of artists with different styles to pick from. A Kickstarter project will fund the creation of the web-site.
To celebrate the launch of Drawmycharacter, Loubet also selected, at random, two lucky fans to receive free characters. Stephen Emond, of Collector’s Guide fame, was one of the winners.
FYI permalink and title misspell “draw” as “dray”. Cool idea Loubet has. I wonder how many people will send him a photo of themselves for an epic self portrait.
Fixed title. Not sure if the permalink can be fixed. At the very least, it’s beyond my powers.
Thanks for the title fix, Dungy. I’ll leave the permalink as-is…don’t want to risk breaking inbound links from Twitter and the link.
Doing a vanity search on Google and end up here! 🙂 Thanks so much for the shout-out! Please like my Drawmycharacter facebook page. The more likes I get the faster the Kickstarter gets launched, and the quicker you get your characters drawn! 😉
Cool sidebar art, by the way. I recognize a lot of that. Those trees were a pain in the ass, if I remember correctly. Argh, I did most of those tiles! What a blast from the past!
Hi Denis…thanks for dropping by. Pop by from time to time; this might just be the most heavily-trafficked and actively-updated Ultima fan site going, and we always appreciate former Origin developers popping by.
Speaking about the background…I loved the Ultima 6 artwork. It’s my favourite in the series. You did a tremendous job with it.
