Bethesda Thursdays
Tom Francis doggedly continues his attempt to play through Skyrim as a pure illusionist, and this week’s entry in his ongoing journal is fairly short. Poor guy…he really is subjecting himself to needless suffering.
Somewhat more interestingly, Bethesda confirmed this week that a Premium Edition of Skyrim will be coming out soon, after Amazon’s German portal let the cat out of the bag. Skyrim also won big at the Golden Joysticks this year, surprising exactly no one. And just for good measure, the Xbox version of the game and all its DLC are on sale right now.
The website for The Elder Scrolls Online, meanwhile, has added a story page, to begin teasing out the game’s backstory. You can also get a pretty massive look at the game world. Early reviews of the game seem to suggest that there’s some promise to the game, with some even going so far as to herald it as a new kind of MMORPG…possibly.
PC Gamer’s Chris Thursten has begun a playthrough, of sorts, of Dishonored, and has posted the first two episodes online. GameBanshee’s Eric Schwarz, meanwhile, has penned both a review of the game and a second article about its missteps.
Bethesda, for their part, have revealed some details about how the stealth and chaos mechanics in the game work. And this recently-discovered glitch in the game is…just downright amusing, actually.
Oh, and the OpenMW project has posted another update. Zini, from the Titans of Ether, continues to work on getting the death mechanic in the engine just right.
And 1.8 was released yesterday on Steam.
Musta missed that one. But: good to know!
