Back to Roots: XML Port Done, Major Bug Fixes
Fearyourself has updated the Back to Roots website with news of a milestone:
I’ve at last finished my port from text files to XML and have been working on cleaning up the system and bug fixing. Most of the ones I’ve fix do come from my porting but some seem to be old bugs that either surfaced or I found while testing the U5 port.
For the moment, I have finished with the U5 bug fixing and will be moving to the custom chapters I developed to check if everything is fine there and, then, go to U4.
So stay tuned for new developments in the very near future!
Fearyourself has made some excellent progress in recent days (we heard from him just recently, and the conversion to XML was ongoing at that time), so take him at his word when he says there will be developments in the near future. Stay tuned!
Good job man. Methinks this will be one of the few Ultima-related projects that actually gets finished.
FYI, if you’re using the open source NVIDIA driver that may be the cause of the lines between tiles. I think there’s some OpenGL setting for texturing (GL_CLAMP_TO_EDGE?) which alleviates the issue.
