Earlier today, a new UO Producer’s Letter was posted on the UO Herald.

I’ve posted a write-up about my thoughts as a current UO player, but I’ll just say this much now: It’s been too long, and I’m echoing what others have said, but we finally have a letter that sounds like it was written by the producer of an MMORPG. Communication has been really poor with the UO community, and for the last year, we’ve had far too many producer/franchise producer letters that were really vague or said very little about UO’s future in general.

There was a lot happening with UO, both good and bad, and with the vagueness and refusal to talk about UO’s future, it wasn’t surprising that many in the UO community wondered if UO was on the way out the door, even as a new online Ultima game was coming in.

For many of you ex-UO players, you should know that Lord Blackthorn is making a return, and not that steampunk Lord Blackthorn crap that was shoved down our throats. Dupre also made a return recently, and led the players in the fight against Exodus.

But something even more important was mentioned today. Now, this is just something the UO team is talking about, but the current PvP system of Factions has been a train wreck for a long time, so they are considering going back to Chaos/Order PvP.

As I said, I did a write-up about some of the things they are discussing, I didn’t really have anything to say about the upcoming publishes since there aren’t many details.
