Obsidian Fridays
There’s very little in the way of news from Obsidian Entertainment this week…but that’s still more news than I was able to find concerning Big Huge Games, so…win!
Chris Avellone made some comments on Wasteland’s skill system, and how this ability to customize a character factors into the concept and experience of role-playing. In general, he heaps praise upon old-school skill systems, though he does not that not every skill in the original Wasteland was useful.
Also, the South Park RPG that Obsidian is still working on appears to have had its name changed; it is now known as South Park: The Stick of Truth. And it is rumoured to have an “offline co-op” play mode.
Also:
From the perilous battlefields of the fourth-grade playground, a young hero will rise, destined to be South Park’s savior. From the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, comes an epic quest to become…cool. Introducing South Park: The Stick of Truth.
…that’s just hilarious.
