Jason “Xarton Dragon” Penney has updated his PDAR-based, cross-platform Portable Ultima Patches to include the newly-released graphics upgrades from Voyager Dragon’s Exodus Project.

The update comes in two varieties: a 192 kB “vanilla to v3.0” upgrade, and a 60 kB “v2.5 to v3.0” update:

Ultima 3 Exodus Upgrade 3.0
Applies the “Upgrade v3.0” directly, including:

• BINPATCH.EXE U3UP-30.PAT already executed
• SETM.EXE run once, SBPro (OPL3) selected. No need to run again for normal DOSBox use.
• U3CFG.EXE run once, saved defaults. No need to run again unless you want to change a setting.

Ultima 3 Exodus Upgrade 2.5 to 3.0
This patch is designed to be applied on top of an Ultima 3 install that has already been upgraded with the Exodus Upgrade 2.5. Applies the “Upgrade v3.0” directly, including:

• BINPATCH.EXE U3UP-30.PAT already executed
• SETM.EXE run once, SBPro (OPL3) selected. No need to run again for normal DOSBox use.
• U3CFG.EXE run once, saved defaults. No need to run again unless you want to change a setting.

Naturally, I have updated the Portable Ultima Patches project entry with the new downloads. If you’ve been using Xarton’s system to update your installed Ultima games, be sure to grab this latest release! The changes made to Ultima 3 are pretty profound.
