Back to Back to Roots
Fearyourself sent me a short email over the weekend, in which he announced his return (from his honeymoon; the man recently got married!) and his readiness to get back to his project — Back to Roots. We should, he says, expect to see updates and news from it in the days and weeks to come.
Which. Is. Grand. One always loves to see work being done on these projects.
Speaking of Back to Roots, I think I forgot to report on the last piece of news that Fearyourself put up before he went off and got hitched, which concerns his implementation of a save game system.
We now have a save game system that remembers Npc positionning, monsters in the game, whether youíve asked a Npc to join you etc. This was a bit complicated because a lot of things were not yet set up in the engine but now we have the possibility to play, quit and come back entirely into the game.
This brings me closer to the first full technical demo.
Which, really, is quite exciting news. To this, he adds that his next goal is to work on the city of North Brittany and get that finished off and fully implemented before moving on to the two nearby villages. These villages, of course, will contain monsters and offer “cleanse the area”-type quests.
Congrats Jc. Good news all around.
