Lysts on the Lake Is This Weekend!
Lysts on the Lake is a competitive open jousting tournament held in Austin, Texas, which is produced by a’Plaisance Ltd. Open to all “qualified competitors” (this won’t be a crowd of LARPers; these guys are the real deal: trained jousting enthusiasts), the Lysts feature events in “Skill at Arms”, “Melee a’ Cheval”, and “Joust a’ Plaisance”. Prizes are awarded to the winner of each event, an overall Champion of the tournament, and the competitor who best espouses the ideal of Chivalry.
This all takes place in Austin, Texas; it began yesterday, and continues until tomorrow. Tickets are available.

All: Tickets are open to the general public, it seems. If you’re in Austin or the general area, see if you can hit this up today (last day!). It’s my understanding that various Ultima personalities (Garriott, Greg Dykes, David Watson…) often show up, often in character, to this event.
If I were actually invited and went to such an affair, I would feel so high and paranoid, it would be crazy. I idolize RG a bit, giving due respect to my childhood, but the caliber of the bullshitting that would be going on there would probably freak me out. What say ye? ‘Tis, true; am a bit unsociable, perhaps. Ar…
