Indiana, I am in you!
Time for another round of work-related travel, Dragons and Dragonettes. This time, I’m off to Indiana, where I will be for the next two weeks. And after that, I will most likely be headed to Utah, for another week. But really, Indiana is where it’s at.
Now, I look at my traffic stats and I see that the site has had no traffic (that StatCounter can detect) from the Hoosier State; perhaps there are no Ultima fans there. My hope, however, is that there are. Indeed, if there are, I should very much like to meet and raise a beer with you all. I’ll be headed up to Indianapolis on the weekend (February 5th/6th) regardless, but…if there are any Ultima fans who are (or plan to be) in the region at that time, I suggest we all meet up and raise pints.
(It’s what Dupre, Shamino, and Iolo would do, after all. Especially Dupre.)
Drop a comment if this is something you would a) be interested in and b) attend. ALso drop a comment if you have a suggestion as to a particularly good place in Indianapolis for a bunch of classic RPG fans to grab a drink and some tasty noms. (Sightseeing suggestions for the areas around Sullivan, Terre Haute, and Indianapolis are also welcome.)
I used to live in Indianapolis, but alas, no more.
As far as sightseeing, downtown Indianapolis is pretty nice as far as downtowns go. It was a planned city, so it’s really easy to navigate, and in the very center of the city is the Soldiers and Sailors monument surrounded by a circle with some historic buildings. Extending north out of the circle is Meridian Street which tends to have a good number of historic buildings as well. Somewhere along this street is the Scottish Rite Cathedral (you can’t miss it) which is beautiful and should have tours. Plenty of shopping and pubs to get your drink on downtown too. 😉
must be nice to get away from minus 30 again
Not as nice as you’d think. I’m a winter creature; I don’t mind — and sometimes even enjoy — the cold.
Plus, Indiana is getting an ice storm just now (I think). I’ll take my mountains of snow over that, any day.
