Richard Garriott on 'The Moth' podcast

New York-based non-profit organization The Moth is, according to their About page, “dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling. It was founded in 1997 by the novelist George Dawes Green, who wanted to recreate in New York the feeling of sultry summer evenings in his native Georgia, when moths were attracted to the light on the porch where he and his friends would gather to spin spellbinding tales.” The group does a weekly (I think) podcast…and it just so happens that a recent edition thereof featured none other than Lord British himself.

I know what I’ll be listening to on the train ride home!

Oh this is great. As a public radio addict this is going to make driving for a living great tomorrow. I’m a huge fan of the moth radio hour. Such great stories and people.

Little insite into Garriots money. Seems he lost most of the weath made from selling Origin on the sock market crash of 2001. Guess also the other company he’s talking about is Destination Games which is currently owned by NCSoft. Shame it did not last long.

  3. I agree, the “other company” is probably Destination, which he founded after selling Origin.

Pity about the stock market losses, although that certainly happened to a darn lot of people.
