Jeeze Dupre! What would Shamino say if he saw you?
I’m glad my family stopped sacrificing pines for redressed pagan rebirth rituals for bout a decade now, though I used to love the whole process.
Honestly, I’d prefer to use a real tree if I could, but owing to my wife’s allergies it’s never really going to happen. Though I have to say, I rather like the fact that fake trees make a very tiny amount of mess, as compared to real trees which have a tendency to shed needles everywhere. Especially since we have a two-year old.
Never did mind the tenuous pagan connection to Christmas, myself. Always thought the comparison was oversold, actually.
LOVE the video! You should do a whole series, matching the character to the appropriate template. If there is a music-themed one, use Iolo, etc.
(Personally, I would’ve chosen Shamino for this one.) 🙂
We got our tree yesterday (pre-cut) from the neighborhood church that we ‘stole’ our tree from last year.
(There was noone in the booth on Christmas eve, and nowhere to safely leave a check.)
We paid for both. 🙂
I was tempted to go with Shamino, but I figured Dupre would look more natural in the axe-swinging scenes. Plus, Shamino is kind of a greenie, y’know?
We set up (that just sounds wrong) our tree…Saturday morning, I think. Yes, Saturday morning. And then Dragonlet #1 and I hung the lights and some of the decorations.
My only beef is with the LCD Christmas lights; they just don’t look the same — or have the same glow — as did the old incandescent lights. The colours look wrong, as well.
My allergies have improved over the years; I would be willing to try a real tree next year. I like the old incandescent lights as well.
Is that virtuous?
