Ranthalion Dragon Wants to Create A New Set of High-Resolution Ultima Completion Certificates

The Ultima 3 certificate

The Ultima 3 certificate

Ranthalion Dragon, hot off of creating a lovely set of Ultima icons, has launched into another graphic design project: creating a set of blank completion certificates for the Ultima games (because, after all, Richard Garriott will still sign those).

Alright, my new graphic design project is recreating and maybe creating new completion certificates for all of the Ultimas. That way if someone would like to print out their own on nice paper and send it with a SASE to Lord British to be signed and sent back they can, I’ll also get them to Lord British so if anyone sends in for one from him and doesn’t have a way to print them, they can still get one.

However, there is one challenge that Ranthalion is currently facing:

I’ve completed most of them and they look great except for not having decent scans of artwork. I don’t really want to trace pixelated scans from the ‘net, they wouldn’t turn out that great. I’d like to make these really crisp professional quality certificates, so if anyone has original certificates that they would be willing to scan, I’d be grateful, and I’m sure anyone that gets a new cert would be too.

Here’s a low quality image of a recreated Ultima III certificate (without better artwork.)

So, if any of you would like to help Ranthalion out by contributing artwork for these new certificate templates that he’s working on, drop a comment in his post on the Ultima Dragons Facebook group (or leave a comment here that I can then direct his attention to). Personally, I think it would be really cool to have a complete set of ready-to-print completion certificate templates available for Ultima fans to make use of, especially if in the process of creating the set we could see some certificates drawn up for those games in the series which didn’t have them back in Origin Systems’ day.
