Yesterday, the Ultima Online Producer released a letter outlining future plans for UO.
Status of Ultima Online: UO’s Lead Designer was laid off last week, due to EA budget cuts, leaving us with six dev team members, some EMs, and some GMs.
Mythic is cancelling Warhammer Online: Wrathe of Heroes, the arena-based 6x6x6 F2P spinoff of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

Earlier today, BioWare co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk announced their retirement from BioWare/Electronic Arts.
I guess it really should not be all that surprising. EA is moving away from single-player/offline games.
