And even if you are a die-hard IRC grognard, you should check out Discord as well; it’s a marked improvement over said ancient chat platform. Granted, the client is not as customizable as the many and varied IRC clients can be, but the chat is every bit as good, and the audio…well, we’re fans of that here at the Codex, mostly because it’s a) better than most other VOIP options out there and b) has enabled a very effortless recording experience for Spam Spam Spam Humbug.
