Hearth of Britannia: HoBLotH III Planned; Initial Survey Live Now

Rustic Dragon has announced his plans to hold a third Hearth of Britannia Legends of the Hearth event — HoBLotH III as it has already become known — in late April or early May of 2016:

…this event would celebrate what the Hearth of Britannia has become, i.e. the wonderful community that has rallied around its cause. Given my recent lifestyle choices, I no longer have the income, tools, nor space to create an event like HoBLotH II was. However, assuming we can still use Castleton, I believe we can still have an awesome event.
Loosely defined, HoBLotH III would be whatever you make it! There would be a minimal admission fee as there *are* some hard costs I can’t do anything about. (e.g. it was $147 to have the Port-o-Potties serviced after HoBLotH II) Instead of me designing a giant quest and providing food, everyone would bring their own. (I’m happy to organize a meal if people are willing to pay a little more admission) Thus…

  • Yes garb (naturally)
  • Weekend long (or longer?) camping event at Castleton
  • BYOB/BYOF for eating and sharing
  • Quests/activities designed by YOU

If you want to do a quest/activity, simply design it and tell me just enough about it so that I can put it on the schedule. (There would be a website like usual) You would furnish any quest items you need. This can be as elaborate or as simple as you want. (specific limitations TBD) You could lead a song or dance or have a full on battle game. (btw, there *will* be another epic battle)

In other words, this is a gathering of awesome people to do awesome things and share as much as awesome with each other as they can. Anything Ultima or SotA of any time period is welcome. (Yes, this one is open to SotA lore!) You don’t have to lead a quest/activity and you don’t have to participate in anything you don’t want to, so please come if you’re able!

To help with his planning of the event, Rustic has set up a survey asking for some basic information from interested potential attendees. The questions are about what you’d expect: what dates work best, would you be comfortable with an entrance fee, how excited are you, would you be interested in running an event, etc.

So, if a third HoBLotH event is something you’d like to get in on, I’d suggest first heading over to the survey, and then joining in the discussion on the Hearth of Britannia Facebook page.
