The Dark Unknown: Conversation Editor Complete; City of Onyx Mapped Out

Goldenflame Dragon has posted a few short updates to The Dark Unknown’s Facebook page since late June.

Concerning his work on the conversation editor for the game, things were progressing well at the end of last month:

Progress made on the conversation editor, and also have started laying out the Almanac so I know what pieces of art I will need to commission for it.

Since then, work on the editor has been completed…at least enough to earn it a “version 1.0” label:

Conversation editor is done! At least, version 1.0. It’s fully functional as far as being able to actually edit and create dialogue trees, but it’s entirely possible I’ll come up with features to add down the road.

More recently, Goldenflame has been working on mapping out cities in the game:

City of Onyx is now mapped out. One city left to do. Well, one inhabited city, anyway.

And in a comment, he also outlined the current state of The Dark Unknown’s story:

Depends on at what level you’re asking about… the high level story is done, at a midling level there are still some gaps (there are a couple of things that I haven’t decided how you find out about yet, stuff like that). At the low level, not many NPCs actually have dialogue at this point, though there are a lot where I have a name and a note about which plot important bit they connect to.

All in all, good progress is being made on the game. Hopefully we can be treated to a screenshot or two of the completed city of Oynx in the near future!
