Ananias: Indiegogo Campaign Relaunched; Version 1.18 Released

Slashland has cancelled the previous crowdfunding campaign for his browser-based, mobile-friendly roguelike, Ananias. In its place, he has launched a new crowdfunding campaign, again at Indiegogo. His reasons for doing this are explained in this blog post:

’s been a month since we received the last contribution to the campaign; it has definitively stalled and that has prompted us to act.

We have launched a new improved campaign, we took things off and made adjustment so that there could be a new doable scope with reduced funds.

As you may know, the original campaign was fixed funding, which means we have not received any money from the previous contributions. New campaign is flexible funding which will allow us to advance into the development of the game at a greater pace.

So, if you had previously contributed to Ananias, please renew that contribution on this new campaign.

In addition to the above, Slashland has also released version 1.18 of Ananias. Notable additions to the game in this release include save game/load game capability, and some new environment tilesets (which can be seen above).

What’s the story on that? I viewed the translated version of that post but couldn’t get enough information to determine the purpose, origin or license of the tilesets. I use some CC0 textures and sound effects, so it’s all good if that’s the case. Even improperly used assets with respect to license are okay for placeholders (IMHO), but probably not if you’re crowdfunding with them. Just curious, as your post was brief and my investigation fruitless.
