A Live-Action Ultima 6 Introduction Homage, With Accordion Music

This was…not at all what I expected it to be.

Kristofer Yffén has done renditions of a few pieces of iconic game music on his accordion, and even seems to do a bit of game development in his own right. So I suppose it shouldn’t come as a surprise that his rendition of the music for the introductory sequence of Ultima 6 is nothing short of excellent…although it is rather surprising just how well the sound of the accordion works with the mood of the sequence.

The First Age of Update: I forgot to “hat tip” Manuel Masias for bringing this video to my attention initially:

Richard Garriott, by the way, loves it:

That was seriously fucking crazy. I enjoyed it, but am not quite sure what to say. Very “artsy” I suppose. I think the moonstone may have been an olive or an acorn. Perhaps certain mushrooms were involved in the video’s creation. The music is a nice rendition, and sounds surprisingly great on an accordion rather than the obvious piano or guitar. Nice work Kristofer. I’d like to see more of these.
