Ultimate Quest: Kickstarter Over, Funding Unsuccessful

Last month, Max Leibman’s Ultimate Quest came to light. It was billed as a tile-based, old-school RPG inspired by (among other things) the early Ultimas, and the good Mr. Leibman attempted to raise $60,000 on Kickstarter to fund its further development and its release on a variety of platforms…including Windows Phone 8 (something you don’t see every day).

Sadly, the Kickstarter campaign was unsuccessful in raising that amount of funds, and as yet there has been no word on what the future holds for Ultimate Quest.

That is a god damn shame, though I think we could all (devs anyhow) possibly take some positive things away from it. In any case, I know what it feels like to request trial by jury (figuratively speaking, mind you!) and have few to no witnesses speak on your behalf as time slips away and the judge metes out an inevitable sentence of death. Still feels like there’s a bit of a mystery here; the campaign had no updates along the way. Anyone have any additional information about the project or its devs?
