What would an Update of the Avatar be without some discussion of in-game items, both of the “for sale” nature and the “backer reward” nature? The latest update posted to the Shroud of the Avatar site includes both, of course, the first of which is this fine bow (available exclusively to Founder backers):

Those who pledged at the Immortal Adventurer level (or above, I assume) will also receive this fine ankh necklace:

Available for sale this week, meanwhile, is this in-game version of Richard Garriott’s Silver Serpent necklace:

Now, I realize that it’s probably just an artifact of the asset creation process that the Silver Serpent necklace doesn’t have a clasp on it, but that’s actually accurate to the real-life version. I can’t recall in which interview Richard Garriott actually explained it, but the chain is a fixed piece with no clasp; there’s really no way for him to remove it until and unless the chain wears through. Which I gather it has done, on a few occasions, always being replaced with another claspless chain.

Oh, and for those of you who plan on engaging in crafting, there’s a pair of scissors, the latest in the ongoing Prosperity line of items:
