Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Goes Free For Its Final Days

Polygon is reporting that Mythic’s soon-to-be-shuttered MMORPG, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, has become entirely free to play as it enters its final days:

Mythic Entertainment’s massively multiplayer online game, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, has gone free-to-play in the lead-up to the game being shut down, the studio announced this weekend.

Effective immediately, the studio is removing the ability to open new Warhammer Online accounts. It is also opening the game completely free of charge to anyone “that has or had an account in good standing starting October 31st, 2013.”

Until Dec. 18, when the game official shuts down, players will be able to play for free. Mythic will continue to add new non-playale characters to the game as well as “other unique experiences for everyone to enjoy as we say goodbye to Warhammer Online over the next few weeks.”

So, if you have a WAR account…now is a fine time to log back in and say your goodbyes. Or good riddances, as the case may be.
