Ultima Forever: A Collector’s Edition (Of Sorts)

Paul Barnett, studio GM for Mythic Entertainment, made off with the E3 press kit for Ultima Forever for a bit:

It’s actually a pretty awesome collection of materials. Oh, there’s no illustrated manual, but the tarot cards and map are, as trinkets go, well-enough documented already and feature beautiful artwork. The box is also quite impressive; whoever put it together did a smashing job.

Here’s hoping that Mythic are able to find a way to let interested fans obtain some (if not all) of what Barnett shows off here. It would, for example, be the sort of in-app purchase (“Click here to order a cloth map and tarot cards!”) that a lot of people would probably be inclined to make.

As cool as all that is, it makes me feel so old and sad. I’m really glad they’re doing it though. The only motivation I can reasonably think of is love.

  2. They should sell this boxed set on their website. Box, manual, cards, cloth map, a CD for PC edition (when avail). Soundtrack would be awesome too.. Throw in some gold keys in-game, maybe a vanity Armor piece that looks like the Mystics. I’d so buy that.
