After Deckard pointed out to me that the Ultima Online GM and Counselor Guide that was featured in a gallery at Old Aiera was still pulling no small number of hits from the Ultima Online subreddit, I decided to move the whole thing to The Origin Gallery and set up a redirect to bring people to its new home there.

The Counselor programme was a volunteer effort that Origin Systems fostered in order to “enhance the overall enjoyment of the community for themselves and other members.” The programme was disbanded in 2000, a move which resulted in a class action lawsuit being filed against Origin and EA.

The images in this gallery offer an interesting glimpse into the administrative workings of Ultima Online, and into the responsibilities which were placed on the people Origin hired and/or brought on board to serve as guides to the UO community.

Naturally, I have also re-uploaded a downloadable PDF of the guide in its entirety as well.
