Ex-Interplay Fridays

It’s been a busy week for Obsidian Entertainment’s Chris Avellone. And I don’t just mean this PC Gamer interview, or this Rock, Paper, Shotgun! interviewthe rumours proved true, and he was both announced and subsequently added to the Tides of Numenera team as a “human stretch goal”. Which is big news for Planescape: Torment fans, seeing as how much of that game’s story was Avellone’s brainchild.

Sadly, a production delay for Tides of Numenera has already been announced; we won’t see the game before 2015. Even so, a couple of screenshots and a soundtrack sample for the game have been released, as well as this video. And various members of the development team at inXile Entertainment have given interviews to various gaming press publications.

Oh, and of course, the Tides of Numenera Kickstarter closed today, raking in over $4.1 million and setting the record for the most-funded game (via Kickstarter itself; Star Citizen obtained much of its $8 million haul outside of the crowdfunding site).
