BioWare Mondays

It would appear that BioWare have once again tweaked the end-game world of Ilum in Star Wars: The Old Republic, hoping with this revision to offer a better post-narrative experience for players that blends PvE and PvP effectively. The next major patch for the game, version 2.0 (also called Rise of the Hutt Cartel) also recently went live on the game’s test servers). This chapter of the game will also feature some adjustments to the Commendations system the game uses to gatekeep epic gear.

New details about the game’s Legacy system were also published, and the possibility of character appearance tweaking has also been discussed.

On the Mass Effect front, the last two DLC for Mass Effect 3 will arrive…both tomorrow (for Reckoning, the multiplayer DLC) and in another week or so (for Citadel, the single-player DLC). Citadel sounds massive, and evidently BioWare have managed to work a tribute to late voice actor Robin Sachs into Reckoning.

PlayStation Plus users in Europe can get Mass Effect 3 for free right now, by the way.

OXM, meanwhile, caught up with the art director at BioWare, who chatted at length about Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and why the jump to next-gen graphics won’t be a necessarily obvious leap.

Oh, and if you’re wondering what BioWare’s other founder, Ray Muzyka is up to these days, it involves venture capital.
