Obsidian Fridays

Chris Avellone promised that he would document a playthrouh of Arcanum if Project Eternity managed to raise $4 million, which it did. He’s finally making good on that promise, and held a poll asking for input as to the format that the documentation should take.

The pre-order price for Wasteland 2 will be increasing soon.

Of course, the big Obsidian-related news this week was the sale of THQ assets to various buyers. South Park Studios attempted to block the sale of The Stick of Truth, the South Park-themed RPG that Obsidian is currently working on, but ultimately the game was snapped up by Ubisoft, and will be published thereby. The game is still scheduled for a 2013 release, although whether it comes out in March is up in the air. Ubisoft has said that the release schedule for the game will not be affected by the acquisition, but I for one am skeptical.

Oh, and don’t forget: Neverwinter Nights 2 is now available on GOG.com. It’s one of the only games — maybe the only game — of theirs that Obsidian still gets royalties from, so if you’d like to do them a solid with a bit of financial support, grab a copy today!
