Bethesda Thursdays

Rowan Kaiser may still be struggling to get through Skyrim, but for those of you that enjoy the game…good news! The recently-released (for Xbox) Dragonborn DLC will be coming to PC and PlayStation 3 in early 2013. Indeed, Bethesda are making the PS3 release a priority, in order to avoid the same sort of snafus that plagued their previous DLC on that platform.

Dragonborn, incidentally, evidently feels like a proper expansion for Skyrim, and has been making good first impressions in the gaming press. (It also adds a brutal new enemy, apparently. And lets you fly dragons.) Reviews seem to be largely positive: Kotaku loved it, as did X360A. Forbes calls it an expansion “worthy of Skyrim.

Oh, and if you’re wondering how to access the new content, Kotaku has you covered. If on the other hand you’re avoiding the DLC for now but want a bit of a harder-core Skyrim experience, this mod may be just the thing.

Dishonored was updated recently, and saw a handful of bugfixes. A trailer for the upcoming Dunwall City Trials DLC was also released this week.

Zenimax Online released a new story feature concerning one Jorunn the Skald-King, evidently a person of some importance in the lore and world of The Elder Scrolls Online.

And the OpenMW project continues to make excellent progress. Zini, from the Titans of Ether, has turned his attentions to the engine’s editing suite, and is apparently determined to make it work.

Oh, and for your geekery overload for the week, check out how this guy used a Rasperry Pi to build his own PipBoy, of Fallout fame.
