Bethesda & All the Rest-a Thursdays

MMORPG.com has a podcast interview up with some of the developers from Cryptic Studios, the topic naturally being their upcoming Neverwinter MMORPG. Cryptic execs also weighed in on the free-to-play model and its pitfalls late last week, alongside Riot Games and EA.

And for those of you with a 3DS, the Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion demo is now available.

In other game availability news, BioShock is — or was, at least — available for free via GameFly. And speaking of Irrational Games, here’s Ken Levine talking about the special edition of BioShock Infinite. I think.

The Sorcerer’s Place has an interview with Trent Oster of Overhaul Games up, and Oster also spoke with Red Bull about the game’s iPad port. Composer Sam Hulick, meanwhile, released one last piece from the soundtrack of Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition.

Oh, and Overhaul confirmed that they’ll be working on Baldur’s Gate 2 once Baldur’s Gate ships.

Moving on to all things Bethesda…well, the most exciting news this week is probably the release of a bunch of screenshots from the upcoming Dragonborn DLC. Which, by the way, will evidently return players to the much-beset island of Solstheim.

Zenimax Online, meanwhile, wants your help naming an NPC.

Over at PC Gamer, Chris Thursten working on his “no trace” playthrough of Dishonored. PC Gamer is also featuring this compilation of stabby goodness from the game, although it’s unrelated to Thursten’s playthrough.

Despite having a silent protagonist, Dishonored has nearly 90,000 spoken words and north of 40,000 written words, which is…pretty huge. Not the biggest word count ever, I don’t think, but still quite a lot.

Forbes are still working on their review of the game, and in part three they discuss some of what the game gets wrong. Over at Gameranx, meanwhile, Rowan Kaiser praises the game’s “asymmetrical” morality.

OpenMW 0.19 is now available, and it would seem that Zini (from the Titans of Ether) has basically become the go-to fix-it guy for pretty much every problem the OpenMW team encounter.
