Obsidian Fridays

Tim Cain sat down with RPG Codex for a lengthy interview about…well…mostly his earlier work. Cain is, of course, currently at Obsidian Entertainment working on South Park: The Stick of Truth. Still, it’s a good interview that covers a lot of the man’s career highlights, and his observations on RPG gaming are worth checking out.

Also worth checking out: this Wasteland 2 video, which technically falls under the header “leaked footage” since it’s evidently a recording of a video that Brian Fargo showed off to an audience of fellow developers. But hey, it’s Wasteland 2 and it looks cool.

This also looks (well…sounds) cool:

…a group of Aussie filmmakers are trying to bring [Lanius, from Fallout: New Vegas] to the big screen, roping in a bunch of talent that includes former WETA effects men, professional concept artists and attractive, athletic young people to work on a project called Fallout: Lanius.

It’ll be an origin story, telling how the man came to his position of power, and in a nice touch the voice under his mask will be provided by Mitch Lewis, the same man who played the role in the game.
