AvatarAcid didn’t have any new development news to report when he contacted me by email, but he did send along a number of updated screenshots, explaining them thusly:

Just to let you know, I have changed my texture pack to something much better and polished up the pics quite a bit.

And, indeed, many of the pictures do look just that much better. Head on over to the project entry to check them out; I’ve added them to the extant screenshot gallery, and in most cases they line up next to the shot they are meant to replace, making comparison easy.
