Andy Panthro's Ultima Textures for Minecraft Updated As Well! (Updated!)

Akalaupdate: As Andy notes in the comments:

It turns out I missed a couple of textures (jungle tree and sapling).

So I fixed that issue, and decided to alter another couple of textures (Enchanting table and Redstone Lamp).

As such, I’ve added his newer texture pack to the project entry, in place of yesterday’s. Download away!

Original Post: Andy Panthro has updated his Ultima texture pack for Minecraft as well, which means that his textures again support the latest/current version of the smash hit indie game. Andy’s texture pack combines textures from Ultima 6 and Ultima 7 primarily, in contrast with Zeph’s texture pack (which draws almost exclusively from Ultima 6).

Andy has made various minor updates to the pack, most notably a change to the Netherrack texture. You can find a screehshot at the project entry, as well as the updated download package.

Sorry folks! Next version will be with you shortly.

  2. I missed those too when I did it. XD Don’t forget the jungle grass/ferns. I missed those when I first started in on the jungle stuff. Oh, and there are 3 other new textures. The “circle stone” which is only accessible in creative for now, and two sandstone runes that can’t be used at all. (I just copy/pasted them for now. No idea how they’ll be used.)

The terrain and items files are a bit of a mess really. Also, there’s only a limited amount of space left, so I’m not sure what they’ll do when they hit that limit.

The new stone/sandstone stuff I remembered first time around, but for some reason the jungle was a blind spot. I’d quite like to see some abandoned ruins in jungles/deserts to add extra incentives to exploring (they could have treasure in!).

  4. Agreed. Mines are nice, but they need more stuff like that. There are “desert wells” now, but nothing else. Hopefully that a sign of things to come. As far as the textures, the mess comes from the continuous additions while not wanting to break things for people like us. Kind of a give and take I guess. They’ve added capacity in the code for several hundred more block types. I’m guessing we’ll end up with terrain2, terrain3 and so on.
