Introducing Basjian! Beta Testers Wanted!

I was in touch some time ago with one Jason McLeod concerning what was then a game idea he’d mentioned. Basjian, as he explained then, was to be an online multiplayer game which borrowed heavily on the early Ultima games for its gameplay experience and graphical style.

He contacted me again yesterday to let me know that Basjian was officially online, and that he was looking for beta testers. And with a little bit of prodding from me, he released this short video outlining the current features of the game:

Basjian!

As I mentioned, Jason is looking for beta testers. Anyone who is interested in giving this game a try (and reporting on any bugs found) should head over to the Basjian website and register an account. It’s free!

I played for a few hours today. It’s a LOT of fun and very addictive.

From a web development perspective, it’s pretty amazing. He’s written the entire thing in JavaScript backed by node! Awesome.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I’m overwhelmed with excitement seeing players pop in and out of game. I’m looking forward to hearing your feedback and ideas! I’m happy to grant items, gold, (and pizza!) to anyone who wants to give it a shot and provide their feedback.
