Neverwinter Nights 2 now available on Steam

The graphics, they hold up well.

You can file this under “it’s about friggin’ time.”

That’s right, Dragons and Dragonettes…Steam has finally added Obsidian’s Neverwinter Nights 2 to its catalogue of games. It currently retails for $20 USD (well, $19.99…), and includes all the expansion packs.

Now, what has this to do with Ultima, and why am I mentioning it? I think some of you can probably guess, but for those not in the know: Return to the Serpent Isle (for which I am one of the worldbuilders) is being built using this game as its foundation.

Which means…when Ultima Return (as we call it internally) gets released, you’ll all have a means of quickly and cheaply acquiring the necessary game in order to play it.

and for anyone who enjoyed the Ultima 5 setting, there is another Ultima based NWN2 module in the works covertly right now. No, not a remake. 🙂

You can’t just waltz in here and drop a bomb like that! I need details…even if only in private.

It was on sale for $9.99 on Steam’s huge Christmas sale last week…

  4. Pity I missed it, although to be fair I have the actual discs for the game and both expansions anyway. Still, discs get scratched; having a backup copy on Steam wouldn’t hurt.

If it came up on sale once, it’ll probably come up on sale again, either alone or as part of a bundle. Patience!

Bought a copy during the Christmas sale on Steam, goes great along with the original copies bought a few years ago. I’m a bit put off that the Westgate module isn’t available on Steam, need to install it and see if the Steam copy still works.
