Forgotten World Updates

Firstknight has posted a couple of updates to the Forgotten World website, including an update to the project information for Beautiful Britannia, and some news about the completion of a “general upgrade” to the northeastern part of Yew, near the court.

He also explains that “general upgrade” means, in essence, an upgrade to the flora and fauna of the region. Treasure and encounter placements remain unchanged.

Three screenshots have been added to give an idea of just what a retouched area in Beautiful Britannia can and will look like.

The main concept change for Beautiful Britannia is the Addition of Addin-Maps.

These are maps, which will be included into the game world without changing the overworld itself. This methodics allows to expand the game with several generic overworld wilderness maps as well as many free-exploration dungeons, which open fantastic possibilities for adventurers. For this both previously unsed maps, but also redone versions of existing ones will be used. The advantage of this concept is, that all those complex event triggers (Boat Travel for example) on the main worldmap have not to be decoded (which would be a massive task) and repositioned later.
